“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

As the Coptic Orthodox Christian Congregation started to grow in Milton, there was a need to start a Coptic Church. Under the guidance & support of Fr. Angelos Saad, Hegoumen of Church of Virgin Mary & St. Athanasius in Mississauga, a building was bought back in 2008 and the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008.

As the congregation grew, new services were established such as the weekly Sunday School service for kids and a weekly Friday Bible Study in addition to the weekly masses.

On Sept. 1, 2013, H.G. Bishop Mina, Bishop of Mississauga, Vancouver and Western Canada, assigned Fr. Kyrillos Attia to be the dedicated priest of the Church of St. George and St. Abanoub Church currently serves about 200 families in the town of Milton and growing by the blessing of God.
